How to make vehicle skins?

NOTE: I have absolutely no experience in coding / texturing. I am an experienced Gmod player though.

I’ve looked for plenty of non-outdated, noob-friendly guides on how to make skins for gmod vehicles (specifically TDMCars, SGMCars, etc.), and haven’t found any that answer what I’m looking for. Could someone make a noob-friendly guide on how to make vehicle skins, or just post here.

I believe you’d make a vehicle skin the same way you’d make any other skin. You’d also need to decompile the model, add in bodygroup/skin code in the .qc, and change the filepath/filename so the new model doesn’t conflict with the old one.
