Please! Only post in this thread IF you’re helping someone, OR if you’ve still got the problem AFTER you’ve tried the suggestions in below.
If you’re experiencing problems with the latest update please try these first:
* Restart Steam (it seems to fix some problems).
* Ensure your graphics card drivers are up to date.
* Ensure DirectX is up to date (this should be able to be done via Windows Update).
* Clean Gmod:
Find your garry's mod folder (this will possible be C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\<SteamLoginName>\garry smod).
In that folder there will be another folder called garrysmod.
o Right click on the folder
o Choose 'Rename'
o Rename it to something like 'garrysmod old'
Now when you run GMod a fresh copy of the garrysmod folder will be made.
Then try to re-create the problems you are experiencing. If you’re still getting the problem, then report it in this thread. Any replies not reporting a problem, or not offering a fix for a problem will be removed.
If you’re crashing, send Garry the crash logs… They help him work out what the problems are. Send them to email@example.com.
General Information About Crashlogs
Crashlogs are like a blackbox recorder. They allow the developer to see the last few moments before the crash - which allows them to fix it.
What You Should Be Looking For
Crashlogs have the filename extension .mdmp. The file usually starts with Steam_ with a series of numbers that follow showing the date and other information relivent to the file, an exammple of this, Steam__3048__2007_3_23T22_3_57C93274
Crashlogs are located in C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps<SteamLoginName>\garry smod The drive letter C:\ may vary dependent on which hard drive you installed your Steam and Garry’s Mod. An easy way to get to your steam directory would be right clicking on the Steam icon, clicking properties, and clicking Find Target or Open File Location depending on your OS. If this failed to help you then this might. The .mdmp files are one folder above your main garrysmod folder.
We don’t know how long it will take to fix the problems, but please be assured that we will work as fast was we can. The more information you can give us the better:

* Direct X version (and the level used by Gmod)

* ...and most importantly crash dumps (if it's a crash)
