I present to you the worlds roundest brush!

Gentlemen, I present to you the worlds roundest brush.

After learning about subdividing and making a mistake on displacements I got an idea:
what if I made a 16 sided sphere with level 4 displacements sub divided? Would my computer explode? Would valve sue me?
My curiosity got the best of me and I pushed the subdivide button. After 15 minutes of waiting I nearly gave up hope,
I was pressing ctrl+alt+del when it stopped loading. After a few seconds of black it appeared.

After some admiration I went to the next step… What would happen if I made it hollow?

Yes…

Yes…

**YES!!!**

Overall it was a quick neat experience I wanted to share. Anyone else got any neat things you can do with hammer?

:cawg:

Woah.

Lawl I feel sorry for you.

I was making this rp map and spent like 3 hours on it
and it crashed. Worst part was I didn’t save it. :frowning:

How long ago? Maps get autosaved every so often under a different file type.

fack
do another one

Compile it next time.

Compile it. If it works you’ll be the master of the universe. Like He-man

It does work, but on the OB engine, maps crash with displacement spheres this size.
We used the same thing for UU to make the uber-planet.

Good god…what has science done?

I have an external program which can generate these for me, so…:P.

Now rap it in a box of reflecting glass.

DO IT.

Make two of them and carve them into each other.

YES. I SAID IT.

We’re trying to crash Hammer not the god damn space time continum.

it doesn’t compile for me :frowning:

Probably because it appears that it all meets in a single point at the top. Meaning you have non-quad displacements.

Fucking hell.
That’s awesome.

Learn to use the -low switch.

Hahaha, I lol’d

… You tried to hollow a displacement, a solid with a volume of 0.

Eh?
