I think I've found a fix for Crafty's missing textures.

I decided to give Crafty another shot and discovered that there is a console inside the program.

A notable error in it is this

25 materials loaded from WAD file cstrike.wad.
WAD file halflife.wad not found.
Loading materials from WAD file ajawad.wad...
Creating new uncompressed texture +0~becks (1 @ 256x256)...
1 materials loaded from WAD file ajawad.wad.

So I decided to try loading the Half Life profile, and lo and behold the missing textures were found! However, the textures that were loaded in the Counter-Strike profile were not loaded in the Half-Life profile.

Also, Counter Strike Source mentions no .wad files, and has this before listing every material it can’t load

I have the User Name set as my original steam name, and have that folder filled with the .gcf and .wad files from cstrike. I’ve removed halflife.wad from my steam name folder, but that didn’t get rid of anything. So Crafty CAN in fact load the halflife.wad file, but only when it’s set to Half-Life.

So we probably have to look for where Crafty looks for the files when set to cstrike, and then place a copy of halflife.wad there.

in crafty102\Specifications there are 2 game files .csf you can edit the gamecustominfo.csf file to search the path to the .wad files but if the game is a post steampipe game i.e CSS the only crafty will load models and textures is if you use GCFscape to extract the .vpks files i don’t have hl1 cstrike installed but i guess you could copy the halflife.wad into the cstrike folder for crafty to load it along with cstrike.wad
