If I want to upload an addon which requires another addon made by another author, do I need his permission?

I’ve been working for a long time on a gamemode to play with my friends. Since it’s taking a very long time to complete, I would like to upload it publicly on the workshop when it’s done.

The problem is that some well made weapons are needed to play this gamemode in an enjoyable way (HL2 weapons are horrible), and I don’t have the time nor the skill to create them. So the only solution seems to be to make the gamemode rely on a weapon addon made by someone else on the workshop.

The question is: Can I upload an addon that requires and is strictly dependent on another addon made by another author, or do I need his permission?

as long as you mark it as required on the workshop page (and dont reupload it) it should be fine

Of course, I’d mark it as required on the workshop and credit the authors of that mod in the description. So I don’t need to ask for permission?
