In-game Renders For Icons

Each item in Rust has an icon which is displayed in your inventory, chests etc. but since the addition of skins, making an icon for every skin for every item would take forever. They made it so if the item can be skinned, it’s icon is an actually in-game render of the item would I think has lead to some pretty janky icons.

I don’t actually have an idea on how to fix it but I just want to know what other people think and if they have any ideas.

they originally did exactly that, but changed to the preset icons months back. i presume it dropped the memory cost of the ui, as well as being an intentional style change.
