I’ve put up with it for a while, but now it’s starting to bother me. When spawning things for the first time upon loading up a map, there’s a 1-2 second lag before it spawns. Is there a way to fix that?
You could write a script that precaches all SWEP models. There’s no way other than that.

This happened with me, it seems to just be the way the source engine works
