Linux Constraint Lag [Needs fixing]

This ships with Garry’s Mod linux server.

Well basically, With a Windows server it won’t lag or at least the servers FPS won’t drop below 10 when pasting something a large amount of constraints

Anyways heres my proof:

Basically, I spawned that in a linux server, sorry about the low FPS that I was getting myself, my computer is pretty shit and needs an upgrade.

Ignore the 6 - 8% lag as well that was my PC

Just after that you can see the net graph in the left hand corner where the sv: went from 330ish down to 5 - 10

Anyways, This needs a fix from Garry, its not a custom addon or anything a like, it also lags with smart constraint and when you are welding a lot things together at a high speed.

Anyways, Thanks!

This bug is here, still a pain in the ass and no one is helping, thats brilliant.

I don’t want to sound like a spoiled brat but yeah, not even Garry reads this?

I would send a PM or email to garry, he doesn’t read all of the forum, that’s what mods are for.

That comes most often from vehicles.

garry come 'ere and look at this thread.

PM him, or he probably won’t.

I’ve PMed him about it and also posted it on the linux thread multiple times.

Someone post to steam forums and hlds_linux mailing list. Only that way we can get things going even if then. Could someone test it in TF2 so we know it’s an engine bug?
It’s definitely Phys_constraint’s fault so one “just” needs to make constraints that are linked.

This is still a major issue on linux, is garry even attempting to work on this?

edit: latest tweet by garry.

"Sunburnt already! :frowning: about 7 hours ago via Twitter for iPhone "

My guess is this issue has been placed on the back burner, or thrown out.

No. Garry just has no idea how to fix it.

…and he’s on vacation.

I’m still getting this issue, Any news on it? Or are all Linux servers pointless to even use?

Edit: Oh and not to mention jeeps STILL do not work.

Garry: “Hope you enjoy your new Windows server”

This problem still appears on linux servers… Any news ?

Best bet would be to post about it in the BETA forum.
