So for my gamemode and the corresponding maps I am porting CSS materials, models, and maps for this game mode. However that is a lot textures, models, and maps. What would be a good way for this to loaded as I don’t want it to packaged with the gamemode on github cause its several gigabytes. Does S&Box and Source 2 have a way of loading say like a .vpk or will I have to include all this in my addon?
You can include them all in the .zip file (.vpk works too), as long as there’s a .vmap file in the main folder.
So I have to have a map in the root of my archive for it load correctly? Also could is there a way to make sure that the clients and server download my archive?
Server obviously already has the archive and as of now client gets an exact copy of it. (This might change but just for code)
Watch out. The materials and textures are property of valve, so be careful about adding css assets
