Making a glow around Entity?

I got a question,
I am making an entity, no big deal, but I would like to know how would I put a glow around it?.
I tried making a sprite and parenting it to it;
[lua] local glow = ents.Create( “env_sprite” )
glow:SetKeyValue( “rendercolor”,“255 165 0” )
glow:SetKeyValue( “GlowProxySize”,“2.0” )
glow:SetKeyValue( “HDRColorScale”,“2.0” )
glow:SetKeyValue( “renderfx”,“14” )
glow:SetKeyValue( “rendermode”,“3” )
glow:SetKeyValue( “renderamt”,“255” )
glow:SetKeyValue( “disablereceiveshadows”,“0” )
glow:SetKeyValue( “mindxlevel”,“0” )
glow:SetKeyValue( “maxdxlevel”,“0” )
glow:SetKeyValue( “framerate”,“10.0” )
glow:SetKeyValue( “model”,“sprites/blueflare1.spr” )
glow:SetKeyValue( “spawnflags”,“0” )
glow:SetKeyValue( “scale”,“1” )
glow:Spawn()
glow:SetParent( self.Entity )
glow:SetPos( self.Entity:GetPos() )[/lua]
It spawns and all, but unfortunatly, can only be seen at a very far distance :/.
So does anyone have an Idea on how to do it?
Thank you.

Jinto did something quite like this, if someone would kindly link this man to his post on entity glowing using renderx that would be just spiffing.

Images seem to be broken though.

Need’s optimization to work with entitys, won’t be to hard.

Ok thanks guys, but I found a way to make it work.
Thanks anyway.
