And i get a windows error window saying:

The command failed. Windows reported the error:
"The system cannot find the file specified."

Any idea how do i fix this?

I remember getting this error a very long time ago. As far as I remember, renaming the .vmf file before compiling fixed the issue.

i did.

Make sure the VBSP, VVIS and VRAD directories are valid in your configuration.

Please give me an example of a valid directory?

vbsp and friends should be at the proper directory if you installed the SDK correctly. What I think TCB is advising is that you check your configurations and verify if Hammer is actually linking to vrad and pals. Do this in Hammer by selecting Tools > Options, then select the “Build programs” tab.

You do realise that bspzip is a utility for packing custom content into a map dont you.

Explains how to add Gmod, but it’s basically the same vbsp, vvis and vrad configurations. Skip to 2:23 to get to that.

… You aren’t running Vbsp. Ensure it is set to “normal” on the compile menu.

I

It is. ill post a pic soon of the build programs

No. It’s not.

Instead of ignoring Phoenix, actually read what he says. You replaced VBSP with BSPZip, a program that does not compile the map but instead acts similarly to pakrat in that it stows custom content into the map.

The reason it is saying it can’t find the file is because it isn’t running VBSP, causing it not to create the .bsp file for vrad and vvis to run off of.

What you see when you read the output with the usage commands is what you get whenever you double click on bspzip.exe. It’s because you are putting VBSP commands into a program that does not accept VBSP commands.

To fix it, revert your VBSP command path line to its original order.

Thanks for helping guys.

Whats wrong in here though

Top picture, BSP executable, you’ve got BSPZip, where it should be VBsp, like approximately half a million people have already told you.

ep1 and bspzip

oh damn i’m stupid. I’ve changed it from bspzip to vbsp, yet;

Works now, edited the ep1. <3 you all.

This was much more complicated than it needed to be

True. Sorry.
