I don’t own orange box, all i have is HL2:DM,CS:S, HL2:LC, Gmod, and a portal demo. So when in Source SDK, i select orange box, but then i have no options… (for obvious reasons). BUT! Can i still make a map without any loss in any kind of way? If there is name them please
You don’t have any Orangebox content is all…
In steamapps/<your steam name>/sourcesdk/bin/orangebox/bin, find and open GameConfig.txt.
If there is anything there, delete everything, and paste this:
"Configs"
{
"Games"
{
"Garry's Mod"
{
"GameDir" "c:\program files\steam\steamapps\<your steam name>\garrysmod\garrysmod"
"hammer"
{
"GameData0" "c:\program files\steam\steamapps\<your steam name>\garrysmod\garrysmod\garrysmod.fgd"
"TextureFormat" "5"
"MapFormat" "4"
"DefaultTextureScale" "0.250000"
"DefaultLightmapScale" "16"
"GameExe" "c:\program files\steam\steamapps\<your steam name>\garrysmod\hl2.exe"
"DefaultSolidEntity" "func_detail"
"DefaultPointEntity" "info_player_start"
"BSP" "c:\program files\steam\steamapps\<your steam name>\sourcesdk\bin\orangebox\bin\vbsp.exe"
"Vis" "c:\program files\steam\steamapps\<your steam name>\sourcesdk\bin\orangebox\bin\vvis.exe"
"Light" "c:\program files\steam\steamapps\<your steam name>\sourcesdk\bin\orangebox\bin\vrad.exe"
"GameExeDir" "c:\program files\steam\steamapps\<your steam name>\garrysmod"
"MapDir" "c:\program files\steam\steamapps\<your steam name>\sourcesdk_content\garrysmod\mapsrc"
"BSPDir" "c:\program files\steam\steamapps\<your steam name>\garrysmod\garrysmod\maps"
"CordonTexture" "BLACK"
"MaterialExcludeCount" "0"
}
}
}
"SDKVersion" "3"
}
Obviously, replace <your steam name> with your actual Steam name, and I’m assuming that you have Steam installed in C:\Program Files. If not, I hope you know what to do.
So if i map under HL2:ep1 pretty much everyone can use the map? But when I run it as that all the views in hammer are messed up :S. I’m positive about that cause I’m doing a little bit of mapping on CS:S.
P.S. How can i upload photos to show you?
EDIT: Okay, its all fixed. Thank-you so much “_kilburn” +1
