So, my brother wanted me to teach him mapping. I teach him some of the tools, including how to skew things. So, of course he chooses to skew a large part of the map. I tell him that he shouldn’t map skewed and it will make the whole thing much harder to managge and make it off-grid and such, but he won’t listen, and just made me go out of his room, so he can keep mapping in the wrong way. can you give me some advice?
Let him make his own mistakes. He will learn in time.
Yeah, I guess, but it’s just so frustrating.
As IronPhoenix said just leave him, he wants to be a shit mapper then let him be, he will learn eventually.
you can get away with it if you build the map skewed in the first place. It just requires more effort (clipping and vertex manipulation and square counting) to make it all line up stay on grid and fit nicely.
Yeah, I know, it’s just so much more complicated that way.
Dude it doesn’t matter, just let him do his thing.
Just remember that you can laugh at him when he realizes what he’s been doing wrong all this time
show him interlopers tutorials etc.
just tell him to google hammering tutorials.
