Material refuses to go transparent.

I’m trying to use a portion of a material for a HUD I’m making, but no matter what I try, it always draws a black background onto the texture (which I retrieved from the SDK).
Help please, I really want those health and armor icons!
Thanks.

	"$baseTexture"  "sprites/a_icons1"
	"$nocull"		"1"
	"$translucent"	"1"
	"$alphatest"	"1"
	"$ignorez"		"1"

}

Do you have an alpha channel?

I assume it does, as the base texture is transparent when I draw it in DrawTexturedRect.
However, it doesn’t appear if I draw it in DrawPoly, which is the only way I can get the portion of the material I want.

If you have any fairly good image editing program, you can check to see if it has a proper alpha channel.

Unfortunately all I have is Paint and I’ve got no idea where to find the original file.

Maybe send the file over here.

However, when I managed to locate the file, I also found the VMT, which made it work for me, so thanks for that. :stuck_out_tongue:
Completed code:

	"$vertexalpha"	"1"
	"$ignorez"	"1"
}

Your vtf didn’t have an alpha.
