Maya to Garrysmod tutorial?

Hi. I recently made a model in Maya 2011, and am not very sure on how to convert it over to a usable .MDL file in Garrysmod. I’ve looked around on Google for quite some time, and haven’t found anything helpful to my needs. Would anyone here have a tutorial uploaded, or something of the like? I have all the necessary tools installed (.VTF Edit, .SMD Export, MDL Compiler), and I have a .VTF sheet for my model. Now that I think about it, is it possible to export as a .OBJ, then covert over to .MDL with a conversion program? Eh, anyways… I’d love any help. Here’s my model. (Just started modeling again from a few years ago.)
