Missing models

alright so when I load the server and login it says missing models in the console and tells me which models are missing so in this case its the player models for the pointshop so I can see the model but others cant and im invisible to them so how would I fix this? would I need to setup all the models in fastdl as well to get them to show to other players?

Have you setup a resource.AddFile file?

no I figured I wouldn’t need it since it downloaded the maps without me needing to set that up

but now that I added all the model files to my fastdl it doesn’t tell me theres a missing model I just haven’t been able to test it yet to see if others can see the player model

but if I have fastdl setup to dropbox and its downloading those files when you get on the server do I need the resource file?

Yes, the resource file tells the server what to send to the client. Just make one.

alright but I read somewhere that if you have AddFile instead of AddSingleFile it downloads every map instead of that single one say I have a map setup like resource.AddFile(“maps/ttt_prisonj.bsp”) that would download all the .bsp files from there does that work? or do I still have to put every file in there?

That’s incorrect. The only thing resource.AddFile does compared to resource.AddSingleFile is download all parts of a model and texture (if you put resource.AddFile(“models/test.mdl”), it will add test.mdl, test.phy, test.dx90, etc.). Also, resource.AddFile is more reliable than resource.AddSingleFile.

didn’t have the server folder in lua/autorun so I made a new folder for it I will restart the server again and see if that works and now im getting a problem with my pointshop not wanting to change the playermodel sorry to ask for so much but is this right?

and the stuff you told me to put in resource didn’t work other people cant see the player models still I have all the models stuff in my dropbox folder which is public it works for the maps when people connect the resource.lua is located in lua/autorun/server
