Model file to Prop?

I want a better corn model in my map (current is a disgusting propper-made one)
Fortunately, I found a .stl file of one but I need it in my map. WWMT doesn’t work as 3ds max crashes upon importing the file. (Yes, I imported it, not open)
Anyway I can make it a prop through Blender?

Yes, you will need an smd exporter for blender and a compiler to make it compatible with the game. this is the compiler i use and it works fine for me. http://www.erikszeug.de/index.php?mc=source-engine&sc=downloads&p=tools

If you send the STL file to me, I will attempt to see if there is a way to open it in Max without crashing.

Probably my bad reading but I don’t have anything for 3dsmax.
