I packed a VPK of all of my textures for a mod I am making, but when I put it into the materials folder and open Source SDK Hammer for my mod, it only sees the regular ol’ base HL2 textures. Before you ask, I did pack the folder with VTF’s and VMT’s.
VPK files should be in the root game mod directory, ( the folder with “materials”, “models”, “sounds” ) and inside the VPK it should look similar to the root game mod directory. Materials in a materials folder within the VPK.
That’s exactly what I did, but it didn’t show.
make sure you have
in the gameinfo.txt and rename the .vpk to pak01_dir it should get read when place in the main mod folder
