Needing help with this.

Can anyone tell me where I messed up?

Here is what the error reads.

[Error] gamemodes/gamemode/gamemode/cl_init.lua:10: ‘)’ expected near ‘I’
1. Unknown - gamemode/gamemode/cl_init.lua:o

Couldn’t load init script: ‘gamemode/gamemode/cl_init.lua’

Here is what I have in that file around the ‘I’

for i = 1, 3 do
Msg ( “variable “i” is equal to”…i…“which puts you on team”…Table1[ 1 ]… "
"
end

Let me teach you something.

Learn to read.

The error states a “)” is missing somewhere along there, so look, on Msg you have a (, but you don’t have a ) after the "
", so what do you think you need to do there?

Edit:

[lua]for i = 1, 3 do
Msg ( “variable “i” is equal to”…i…“which puts you on team”…Table1[ 1 ]… "
"
end[/lua]

Also, where you have "variable “i”, that won’t work if you’re trying to just do i.

Do “variable ‘i’ etcetc” because you’re just opening/closing the string there.

try this
[lua]
Msg(“variable ‘i’ is equal to”…i…“which puts you on team”…Table1[1]…"
")
[/lua]

or

MsgN() function is not need "
"

I accidentally left off the ) on here note on the file

Your missing the … after “variable” and before “is equal to”
so

"variable "..i.." is equal to"

Also, your for loop is pointless, I assume you want this:
Table1[ i ]
not
Table1[ 1 ] ?

Also, I am just curious to what this code is actually doing, because I cannot see this being used practically…

Just testing the waters in coding.
