Newest Update - Resources Bugged?


So the newest update came out and I was pretty excited since I saw some features, but after updating my server I noticed that my resource.AddFile() isn’t functioning, now my server is trying to download files that I disabled since I put them in a workshop collection. Speaking of that collection, the some of the addons aren’t downloading.
So now what’s happening is 90+ files keep trying to redownload everytime you connect or map changes and workshop addons aren’t all updating/downloading.

The files are still there, I comment out the resource.AddFile() so it doesn’t try to download it, since it’s handled through workshop.
Am I doing something wrong? :s

I should include that, other than the workshop issue, a big issue is that the fastDL files keep downloading everytime you reconnect. I fixed that before the update by overwriting the file that has the resource.AddFile()

Well the issue obviously is that something else, another file is marking those file for download. It can also be any addon after an update ( of the addon ).

For example, you may have put that file into your workshop addon without realizing it.

I hope it’s something small like that, because all of these were working this morning. :s

The mounting order changed, could it be that? Because right now I’m completely lost.

So basically I am correct? You can no longer override files from the garrysmod/ folder, you must do it through addons/myaddon/lua/whatever.lua

I’ll see, I don’t see why the update did it like that. There must be a critical reason that I’m not seeing.

Edit: My friend did that with Wiremod and it didn’t work either…

Because addons have priority because they’re modifications of the core. You shouldn’t be overwriting core files or other addons from core files.

It was made so that you can remove addons and verify the game to end up with a working game.
