Official East Coast 3 (Large) NOT ACTUALLY EAST

So, the official server named East Coast 3 (Large) is not actually hosted on the east coast, a simple traceroute shows it’s in seattle.

And this is game breaking because…?

This matters why? Does it affect anyone…? No.

It’s an official server, so they should fix it.

Why should they fix it? Does it have a severe impact on gameplay?

The entire point of choosing east vs west is to minimize timing in packet transmission between host and client.

How noticeable is the lag though? as long as it is not noticeable, who really cares where it is?

Some people have significant issues and need to do everything they can to minimize it.

If you don’t care, why the fuck are you posting in this thread? Just to take the piss?

It’s not that I don’t care, I just don’t understand what the issue is. He simply stated “it isn’t really in the East.” sure it’s deceptive, but who cares past that, assuming it doesn’t cause MAJOR issues.

I guess the issue is:
Player A can get 200 ping on a west server - Can’t hit diddly with his guns
Player A can get 100 ping on East server- Can hit often with his guns
Player A would rather use East server over west.
But then, there is a chart on the right of the server list labeled as PING which shows the ping. I am confused why this is a issue.

Dont mind jonnymad.

Well thats good info they should probably fix it… the official servers have horrible lag/ping compared to some community ones. Seattle is pretty much connecting to Europe at that point.

I stated what the issue is, server location is extremely important. As a competitive player, I prefer to only play on servers within my region. The pings on the server browser aren’t very accurate, and since there isn’t a way to refresh a single server, the only way to get a true ping is to get the ip first and then ping it externally, assuming that they don’t block ICMP packets. Just stop hating on me for pointing out what some would agree is a clear issue.

Wasn’t trying to hate, sorry if you interpreted it as such  just trying to understand, I don’t know much about networking,

I lag to hell and back on East Coast servers.

This is retarded
