Optimizing the shit out of my server

Alright, so I run a DarkRP server, ( I know… DarkRP ) it seems as though I get some lag when my server reaches above 40 players because of the CPU % going above 100. I’m currently with NFO on one of their game servers ( which i’m sure is loaded with at least 6 - 10 other people) , but I recently just bought a dedicated machine from them. Would this dedicated machine increase the performance of my server? How would I optimize my server to the best it can possibly be? What is the best tickrate ( mine is set at 22 ) ?

But having a server with a bunch of addons is pretty much a must. I see huge communities with like 80 players have more than me.

Set your tickrate to 33 then get rid of all your rate settings and use these.

Don’t fucking put anything other than ZERO ( 0 ) in your minimum settings.

Why? My settings work very well lol… No one lags on my servers. I use similar settings on all of them.

I went through every single one of my server’s addons and ‘optimized the shit’ out of them by hand. ScriptFodder addons are usually the worst perpetrators.
(rewriting net.WriteTable, rewrote entities use SetNW{type}, etc. )

Is the tickrate 33 okay, or would 66 be better?

only use 33 tickrate for DarkRP. You want higher tickrates for shooter gamemodes mostly.

I’m just curious as I found out mine were set to 66. When my server has ~30 players the net_graph also shows quite high usermessages.

I’ve never really noticed much of a difference. Though I’m sure the lack of 200 ScriptFodder addons help… a lot.

Some add-ons that were coded on tick-rate of 66 will probably not work if server had set it to 33. Add-ons like WAC and GBombs 5 will need 66 specifically it in order for them to retain their functionality.
