In addition, here’s Black, the map I did this scene on. It’s an excellent scenebuilding map custom made for me by RedMser, with permission to release it. It features editable fog, sky, and sun position, with no lights, the size of the hammer grid. [Go wild](https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17239680/Facepunch/Photoshop Contests/ScreenshotEdits/TallonIV/Drifts/gm_black.zip).

That’s a great scenebuild you made here, lots of noticeable detail. Not quite sure if I like the purplish lighting, looks a tad out of place. Maybe a light blue would be a bit more fitting, but doesn’t take anything away from your pose. There’s a shadow on the front door there that wouldn’t make sense considering where the sun is. Also, the base of the cliffside looks a bit flat, you could add foliage or some more small rocks along the bottom to make it more lively. Just being really picky by the way

All in all, awesome scenebuild, I like it very much! Thanks for the map too, I’m going to be using it for sure. Been waiting for something like it! Haha

Thanks for the critique! I’ve been rebuilding landscapes from Metroid Prime (more or less) to try to improve my scenebuilding skills, always looking to improve.

Got to agree on the baseline of the cliffs. Needs a gradual snow dune, vegetation or something to make it less flat and sudden.

The snowfield could also use a few rocks peaking in and out.

Thanks to the fact that I save every pose I make, I was able to edit this based on your critique. I tried to keep plant-life to a minimum, due to the whole “frigid wasteland” thing, however I did add rocks to the ground to make the cliff-snow transition more pleasing.

gm_dark is so fucking useful oh my god

The black ground was disorienting to work with at first, but yeah the map is pretty dope.

The picture’s pretty coo’.

For those of you looking to use black, remember to spawn a fog editor and sky editor right away. Without them, the map is extremely disorienting. I didn’t think to mention this earlier, thought it’d be obvious, but I’ve had a few people ask me questions :v:

Where are the mountain models from? Is there a download link?

They’re from the map gm_mountainside or something, it’s a very nice map. I’m on my phone at the moment and can’t really get a link, but it’s pretty popular so it should come up.
