Here what’s new:
• Cannons are no longer made in Valve’s Mapping Hammer but Lua
• Muskets shoot ball bearing bullets (physics)
• New Powder Keg grenade
• Ships explosive barrel is now an entity (Still WIP).
• Ships Helm entity and model, which spins when you turn the ship.
• New scoreboard.
• GUI menus, F1 main menu, F2 swap team and F4 client and admin options.
• Updates to the way maps are created

• Auto Team Balance
• number of rounds RTV system
• Water Damage
• Default weapons

Client Options
• Disable/Enable HUD
• Thirdperson mode
• Disable/Enable Cannon Smoke

Also can we have the ocean map VMF so I can play around with some map ideas/changes.

I dont get it, YOu guys dissagree, Go ingame, when you shoot that smoke stays for around 5-10 sec.
And you cant see a shit forward, where ur shooting. but okay.

Definitely too much smoke, covers up the cannon ball so you can’t adjust where you’re aiming to hit the ships

Any plans to fix the player models so they actually have animations?

Just a quick update, I have also removed the Gamemode from workshop because every time I try to upload the psw2.txt file to get the Gamemode to show in the menu is gets corrupted and shows a load of fffffffffffffffffff in the file, anyone know why?

Version 1.1

  • reduced the cannon smoke fade out time.
  • added an option in client side menu to remove the cannons smoke effect.
  • fixed the pirate team health bar showing double.
  • disabled the player lives system because it wasn’t working and needs updating more.

Yeah am planning on releasing the VMF for my maps and ships at the weekend and my be a mapping tut, I don’t have time during the week because am working.

What I did on my local install to test was grab two models from the workshop (Captian Jack Sparrow and some random britiania player model as the red coats)

Works quite well :slight_smile:

Also there needs to be a way to toggle boat collision, on our server when someone rams a ship all hell breaks loose, teams die from ship collision, major lag.

If they could (somehow, dunno even if it’s possible) have a box protection around them so it acts like two massive boxes hitting each other rather then how they collide now?

I just edited it so that the Redcoats were Metro Police and the Pirates were Citizen models.

Yeah this is a bit of a game breaker so I try to keep the map on psw_fort_thunder so there is only the one boat.

I also have done a little bit modding to it on my side so that when you “use” the ships that it starts playing random pirate chants like in Assassins Creed.
Plus some other small things.

EDIT: What admin mods work fine with this, I tried ULX but it does some funky junk in game.

ULX works fine for me.

How did you do the pirate chants, that would be quite cool to re-use, maybe share on here so devs can make it a server owner option to enable and setup with fastdl?

I’m gonna put a tiny pack together for playermodels, one for each side and leave it up to devs to decide if they use, will do that tonight.

Tried to make one but having major issues with guns being where the mans schlong would be lol

Might be able to get some animation help from the model guys on here, I will reach out and see what they can do.
