Could somebody please help me with this, my rust keeps crashing. Heres a video to show you what happens: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-8UVrZuzkI
What are your system specs? CPU, RAM, video card
Playing gonna laptop?
Nope im not playing on a laptop.
[editline]18th March 2016[/editline]
Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-4430 CPU @ 3.00 GHz (4CPUs), ~3.0GHz Memory: 8192MB RAM Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650
Are your drivers up2date? The gtx650 is pretty slow for rust. I had a gtx750ti before and had problems with performance.
Also check your ram usage with task manager. Maybe, it isnt enough.
Yes my drivers are updated and i do believe rust does not take up 8gbs of ram usage, so i dont think thats the problem but here take a look at this: http://prnt.sc/aggejw
I googled a bit around, you can try to restore youre System few days back. If this doesnt work you can try this… found here: http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/unity-5-access-violation-crash-bug-reporter-problem.312024/
But there is nothing about unity.exe causing an access violation in my crashlog.
As far as I know rust is based on unity engine. So you already tried that?
Nope but i’ll try it when i get home
Jack, next time, if you’re going to show a snippet of the error.log file, actually just paste the contents of the file where we can get it. A screenshot of a text document is silly. Posting the logs to pastebin.com and linking to the pastebin files is better than pasting the full log here and turning the thread into 30 printed pages, but either works.
The thing that’s blowing up on Rust is nvwgf2umx.dll, and I’d like to suggest you try the following two things:
- Open up a command prompt as administrator, and run the following command:
Let it finish; it may take 5-10min. Then reboot and try Rust. If you’re still having issues, proceed to
- Reinstall your Nvidia drivers. And, to be specific, I’d like you to:
a. download the driver installer first (unless you already have it from a recent download that you didn’t delete)
b. completely uninstall the Nvidia drivers
d. reinstall the drivers from the already-downloaded exe
Also make sure you’ve done all of your critical and security-related Windows Updates (the ones that’re checked by default).
Im gonna try if the first thing works but if it doesnt can i add you on skype so you can show me how to uninstall my drivers and download them again?

If all that shit does not work try rolling back a driver for the gpu.
Hey could i please add you on skype or something so you can show me how to do it?
Run the Nvidia driver installer you downloaded in 1.
It’s really that simple and you don’t need guided directions over Skype. It’s as straightforward as I said.
If you follow the instructions in my post you’ll also have no problem running the sfc /scannow command as well. Command Prompt is in All Programs > Accessories and you’ll have to right-click to run as admin.
Okay but on language do i have to put my computer language or can i put whatever language i want
[editline]29th March 2016[/editline]
And i really do not know why im even having this bug, because about 2-3-4 months ago it worked fine but then i quit playing for 2-3-4 months and now my rust has herpes! So its gotta have something with the changes to do right?
The language will be the language that the driver tools display. Select the language that you want; if you select English the menus in the Nvidia control panel will display in English even if your Windows is set to a different language, and vice versa. It does not affect the drivers themselves, just the displayed language.
The game is in Early Access, but something may have become corrupt or out-of-date. I don’t know for sure how to fix the problem, that’s why I’m asking you to try.
