Problems with Borderlands Models

Heyoo, since discovering the magic of Umodel, I’m in the process of porting some ragdolls from Borderlands. However, I’ve run into a bit of a snag - when I spawn the model IN Garry’s Mod, it…does something that it’s not supposed to. In 3ds Max AND in HL2 Model Viewer, it looks fine:

However, when I get it into garry’s mod, it looks like…this:

I can’t seem to figure out what’s wrong with it - I can’t even use my physgun on it. Sometimes it flat-out disappears depending on where I’m standing. Can anyone help me with this?

btw, if anyone’s interested in my progress so far, I’ve also started porting the Crimson Lance mech, though that seems to have its own unique set of problems :wtc:

At least it looks semi-presentable, horribly extended torso and missing handcannon textures aside.

EDIT: I couldn’t bring myself to completely re-rig the Bandit Elite today, so I decided to work on something else for a while: a Crimson Lance soldier. This time, I tried getting a physmodel right. As you can see, I didn’t really get it right. Or I’m pretty sure I didn’t, anyway. When I spawned it, it was as if there was a five-foot, invisible object attached to the feet.

Making matters worse, when it tipped over, this happened:

I’ve tried following MarioKart’s tutorial, but I just can’t seem to get anything right. Any help?

Try re-rigging it.

How so? Like…should I make a completely new skeleton? I’m sorry, I’m really new to rigging - I’ve ported a few models in the past, but mostly just static props.
