I have searched everywhere for this but cannot seem to find the answer. How would I set an entity I am creating to use ragdoll physics (eg, use a player model, but make it ragdolled), I have tried setting the base to prop_ragdoll, but no luck. I have tried spawning a ragdoll and parenting it, but that created problems of it’s own, so how would I do this?
You can’t. You’ll have to use prop_ragdoll. As in create a prop_ragdoll entity and go on from there.
