Realistic Cables: How?

I am working on trying to make a power cable tool. I know I can do this with ropes. But, how could I do with the cables able to flex and still stay off the ground? They should be able to flex with a smooth angle, not just angle itself with the other prop. In other words, I would like it to be kinda stiff.

Elastic, or winch, or any other 9001 constraint. Why don’t you just try it out rather than asking dumb questions?
