Simply: Is there any way to prevent that red overlay from appearing when you die or take damage?
I believe you use this:

Not that. The red overlay thing. Your whole screen goes red when you die.
Did you try it? Because all of the questions on FP relating to the red screen say to use that, and it works according to the person.
Just did and it doesn’t remove the damage color. Just the indicator when you’re getting hit.
