Rigging a model into a HL2 skeleton.

Lets say i have this ragdoll and i want it to be a playermodel. How do i rig it into a HL2 skeleton, is it simple as just importing a playermodel’s skeleton, then import my ragdoll and just fix it?


I’m having similar issues. Hopefully somebody can offer some assistance and not an outdated tutorial.

So far, I’ve been able to decompile the model properly, import it to 3dsmax…then I get to bones and everything goes to shit.

No, you have to re-rig it the valve skeleton which can take a while.

Its a simple ragdolling tut, not rigging it into a playermodel…

You can follow the same rigging tut, but import a valve skeleton in.

Then, follow this guide http://www.facepunch.com/threads/764320-Making-players-and-NPCS. Make sure to put in the Male player code in the .qc.

It’s still the same method for the most part. This might be of some use to you.
