In these three months I started mapping on it again after its predecessor map got corrupted and deleted, it was shit anyway.

So I decided on remaking it completely, this time almost everything is made by me, only stairs and some brush-work is from Half-Life.
The goal of the map is giving a large map for roleplay keeping it canonical as possible, unlike some maps do.

There are currently 6 sectors + Xen and H.E.C.U. base;

  • Level 3 Dormitories
  • Sector D Offices
  • Cencom High Security Labs
  • Sector E Biodome Complex
  • Level D Lambda Cora (Small chunk of it.)
  • Sector B Canals
  • Xen
  • Army Base

Y U NO USE BLACK MESA MODELS?

Jokes aside, It looks very well made. Even though it’d look badass with source engine graphics. Props for keeping it canonical.

Updated map;

  • Added old Black Mesa as an “easter egg”, you have to find the key to unlock the door.
  • Improved Level D Lambda Core.
  • Small bugfixing.
  • Fixed surface dark shadows.
  • Fixed funky brushwork.
  • Muted all ambient sounds, since in the next updates of Garry’s Mod are going to be broken. You can re-enable them in the admin room.

I still have some spare brushes, what sector/part of the facility would you like to see in this map?

It looks like you’re using regular light entities, it looks really tacky.

The lights are lighting the ceiling above them and they all seem to be the same color. There’s no ambiance because of it and it’s really harsh.

Get the original lights.rad from Half-Life and modify the entries to be compatible with your texture names and use it on the map, it will look way better.

It’d be really cool to have mass parts of Black Mesa in one map, love how you’ve kept the same look. My favourite bits were the waste treatment area, and the bit with the lobby and the laser machine… can’t remember the name, but this bit

Like Gigabyte said, get the lights.rad. It will save on entities and look a million times better.

That is the advanced genetics lab. the lobby and the laser lab are actually two different maps that need to be connected.
