rp_industrial17 problems

Hello, guys, i have a little problem, how can i upload custom models on this map? Error’s or f***king bad textures…
Please, help! i’m really need to upload normal that map in hammer editor. I’m noob in mapping, but i’m need delete some things from this map.

You’ve got to pack any custom content
Have a Google for pack packrat or VIDE

It’s to hard for me, do you have some guides in this?

Personally I’d recommend the wiki for just about anything as a starting point
Mapping is all about problem solving, sitting down and working stuff out. So if you ever want to get good at mapping you need to get good at spending 5 mins on the google rather than waiting days for responses on a forum :v

Hello again, I have a new problem. The problem with the light, it does not exist in some places, such as HDR called? Brush 58632: num_entities == MAX_MAP_ENTITIES this is your error why the map is not compiling try reducing the amount of entities in your map, if you have loads of func_details try using this and make a load of them into one model https://github.com/tuxxi/propper-2013 :slight_smile:

with out seeing your map its hard to say what you can replace with models or just remove from the level

Well, the problem with the entity, such as the resolved, and now a new problem.

This means that none of the brushes in leaf 0 or 1 that touches the portal has CONTENTS_GRATE
Check for a huge brush enclosing the coordinates above that has contents CONTENTS_GRATE

How to solve it? When I appear on this ID I do not see anything surprising, just a wall.

in the pic of the Hammer view top right 2d view next to the camera “blue circle red line” theres a blue diaginal line, if thats not part of your map that could be it

I think it’s just a wire from the citadel

if you can move te 3d skbox farther away from the main level and enlarge te skybox brushes to cover those brushes “cables” then see if you get the same error

Ow, thanks, it’s working, compile in progress, but it’s very, very slow, and lagging, it’s normal, or not? And how long compiles bigger map? (Like rp_industrial)
(mb my computer is shitty)

if vvis is taking a long time you’ll have to optimise the map
