Hello people, since I never get time to develop maps these days…

Here’s the relevant VMF’s and required content.

If anyone would like to polish it up a little and release it, go ahead! Please ensure credit is given, where credit is due.
All I ask is that you name any compiles you release, with an appropriate name.
any questions relating to the content, PM me.

It’s worth noting some element of the map spawn LUA entities directly into Gmod, and require the mounting of the associated .FGD file

I’m creating a map similar to my old RP_Stargate worlds series I made some time ago. The map is based on Stargate Atlantis and will feature various worlds from the show.

So far I’ve created the Atlantis gate room and puddle jumper bay, I plan on creating all of the key areas of Atlantis’ interior.

Here we have images showcasing the maps latest addition, a Skybox which can be changed in game. Obviously, the lighting needs to change with the Sky, to do this i’ve used a series of light_spot entities which mimic the usual light_environment rather well.

I like the styling and the colour scheme - it looks a lot like art deco despite it being based on Stargate.

Just saying, before you try to squish as much as possible into one map which will just result in fucked up lightning and cubemaps, could you split the more distanced areas into different maps?

I think he knows what he is doing… lol

What kind of content in the map will you be using? HL2E2, Portal 2, etc…

I’m not sure yet, I wont really know until it’s finished.

The lighting and atmosphere is spot on.

Thanks, I’ve made a few slight changes to the lighting… hopefully your opinion remains the same.

Having different areas in separate maps kinda takes away from the map what I’m trying to achieve. I’m going to try my best to cram as much as I possibly can into the map, so there are plenty of places to explore.

The overall layout of the gateroom looks good so far…
jumper bay seems a bit too big though.
This “spot light” through the balcony window,…is it only this bright from distance, or the same when you’re right infront?
Incase of the latter i’d suggest to lower the brightness a bit.

xD crazy…and i thought that this mysterious city complex would be atlantis…

anyway, tron city doesn’t look like atlantis and vice versa
it just happened to have a freaking huge tower in the middle for no reason :smiley:

what bothers me a bit, is the question if the lighting will stay this “dark” later in the gateroom
