Running a Gmod Server on Ubuntu?

How can I run a Gmod Server on Ubuntu, i’ve been looking around, but there are only tutorials for Windows, Linux, and Mac, help would be appreciated.

Ubuntu = Linux
To get you started:

Throw this in command line:
mkdir srcds;cd srcds;wget;chmod +x hldsupdatetool.bin;./hldsupdatetool.bin;./steam -command update -game garrysmod -dir .
To launch the game:
cd srcds;cd orangebox;./srcds_run -game garrysmod +map gm_flatgrass -port 27015 +maxplayers 4 -insecure

I don’t really want to RUN Gmod itself, I just want to run a server for it.

I meant “to launch the gameserver”
The first line gets the game and the second one launches the server.

You’ve got a bumpy ride ahead of you, btw. Good luck.

Meh this is 5th grade stuff right here.

Follow this.

PM me if you run in to any problems.

Cent Os is better you can get 1000 fps right away.

RoFLWaFFLEZZ is an obvious retard and has no experience with CentOs.

1000FPS does not mean anything. It’s not better than 67FPS.

I don’t get why you rated him dum since he is actually right.Your monitor is likely not capable of displaying faster than 75 frames per second so any amount above that is completely useless to a human viewing through any screen available right now for a reasonable price.

You’re retarded. Server FPS is not the same thing as client FPS.

ok my bad,no need to be a dick though, were all human and make mistakes.

What are you doing in my neck of the woods, Alex! :stuck_out_tongue:

Methinks I said that expression wrong… Ah well.

To be fair, you’re never going to need over 400-500 fps server-side, so why bother?
