Rust hanging up on Facepunch logo since yesterday

Hi all. Posted on an existing thread over in the Bug Report forums, but was hoping someone over here might have an answer. I’ve been unable to load Rust since sometime yesterday, with the game hanging up at the Facepunch Logo every time I load into the Legacy side of the game. Experimental branch loads just fine.

I’ve searched back and there seemed to be a similar issue a few months back that was solved by updating Virtual C++, unfortunately that didn’t work this time.

Any suggestions? Is anyone else having this problem or am I an isolated incident?

Verified files, uninstalled and re-downloaded. Still no luck, hung up at the logo screen.

Make sure .NET Framework 4.5 is installed. Repair it and reboot if it is.

Installed .NET 4.5.1, still no luck.

Try deleting your appcache folder for steam then restart computer, after that try relaunching steam then Verify rust files again. Hope that fixes it, if not it was worth the try

No luck there either. Chalk it up to Alpha, I guess.

Don’t need .Net framework installed. I’m not even sure it has anything to do with Rust since its based on Unity. I assume you tried deleting local content and reinstalling? I did have some problems a while back, that’s what fixed them for me. Something in the updates didn’t patch right or something. A clean install helped.
