Saving txt on server then using it later on client?

I’m messing around with a chat addon (just for fun) and have essentially stored a txt in the server’s data folder with steamIDs and a corresponding string

Now, I want to use this string when the player uses chat, so the hook is clientside. However, I’m not sure what the best way to read the string from the server to the client is.

Any help is appreciated, I’ve tried a few things that didn’t work.

Check out the net library.
You can use net.WriteString() to write the message and net.ResdString() to read it. Sorry if this isn’t what you meant

You could try using

GM:PlayerSay if you don’t want to bother with the net library (that’s serverside)
