I want to do a custom mipmap spray. Looked around in tutorials and attempted to follow them more or less (doing the exact same in tutorials didn’t work either).
Did the 2 images in Paint.NET and saved as Tga.
Opened DirectX Texture Editor and made a new file.
Imported the second file in the first mipmap and the first one in the others (I have 4 levels for this one).
Saved as .dds.
Used Quick & Dirty Bloodlines Tools v3.7g to convert the .dds to .vtf without compressing the mipmaps.
The above is the part where shit screws up.
The previous .dds works fine when loading in DirectX and in VTFEdit (except that VTFEdit compresses the mipmaps if you import dds), but Bloodlines seems to shift the mipmaps around.
What I mean:
Anyone had this problem before and fixed? Or can someone help me make a mipmap spray in a method that they used and works (step by step)?
