Single Player Mapping Competition Contest Community Voting Thread

So, the competition is over, and all the users have submitted their maps, and judges have judged. So, we are left with four maps, three are winning a base prize of 20$. Now it’s up to community to decide who is the ultimate winner of all four maps. I should note that the judges votes will play a huge role in the voting, each judge vote is equivalent to 10 votes (subject to change based off of number of people who vote.)

Voting and then writing a review (of the map you chose) in comments will make your vote count for 2 votes.

Writing one for all four maps will make your vote count as 4.

People with less then 50 posts will not be counted.

The map with the highest votes will get 1st place and an extra 40$ ontop of their base prize

The map with the second highest votes will get 20$ ontop of their base prize

The rest of the maps will just win their base prizes.

ColdSteel reviews.

“there wasn’t really any complex geometry.”
“the map felt open and not very detailed.”
“was just as short as rebellion.”
“ColdSteel was unintuitive and unoptimized”

Break it down.

ColdSteel has multiple heights, displacements and supports.
Rebellion is made up 5 square rooms on 1 floor.

ColdSteel is 5 minutes long when speedrun by a dev.
Rebellion is 60 seconds long on a regular playthrough.

GoldPlatnium submitted his map late.

(User was permabanned for this post ("alt of permabanned user" - postal))

Do we get to play the other maps that didn’t make it or is that the mapper’s responsibility to provide?
I was hoping to play all of them after hearing about the competition.

This should have all the links to all the maps:

Enjoy!

You should change the link in the OP for my map since its the version without the included skybox.

The new and updated download can be found here: (it also has some pictures)

I will release the vmf there too, once the competition is over.

It’s kinda unfair that I’m the last on the list, it’s very unlikely someone will even play my map

Also screenshots are vital

PM screenshots of your map, I’m a little low on time at the moment so I can’t go and take them myself.

Also someone has to be at the bottom.

Updated, sorry.

Here’s a timelapse/presentation video that I’ve made for my entry:

Hope you like it !

Congrats to everyone that made it! Looking back I just wish I made my map a little longer.

I don’t know if this would help anyone now, but I made a grading template on an excel spreadsheet that I’ve been using/modifying for a while now. Just thought I would share it with y’all.

Let me know if I should change/add anything to make it more usable.

Now is time for next contest.

Guys, whoever hasn’t voted should totally like, vote man!

Last day to vote. I’m really excited to see the final results!
