So, apparently my IP is blocked at Garrysmod.org

EDIT: Whoops, wrong forum. Fuck. Can we call this a rant thread? :v:

What the fuck?

But, seriously, how can I go about being unbanned? I have gmod through steam, have only uploaded some shitty anti-surf to the site, and really haven’t even been to it. I got back into gmod about 3 or 4 months ago, and noticed that I couldn’t reach the site then.

But yeah, it looks like I’ve been part of a carpet ban on the dc’s part.

Here’s a trace route.

some shitty anti-surf

Should explain it

The firewall or webserver just has the ICMP protocol (ping) disabled or blocked.

Well no surprise then:

http://x.imgtube.net/YrnqD.jpg

DERP, the image ran off screen.

So what do you suggest? I still can’t access the site. If I go through Tor, I can access it, but my is the download speed god awful. That, and it’s kind of rude to download potentially large things when using Tor.

I have adverts on my end and I can’t see the images, it’s been like this for about 2 weeks now. As well as on the forums I can’t get through the flagdog and the flags aren’t working.

Firstly, download Ad Blocker Plus on Chrome or Firefox to remove almost all the adverts on the web and most of the adverts at the start of youtube videos

Secondly your internet might be too slow to download images or your browser is set not to download them. The flagdog issue will be something to do with your IP, just reboot your router (if you have a dynamic IP) to get assigned a new one and try again.

I’ve restarted it, no difference. Adblock works sometimes but it doesn’t. I’ve changed my internal one and it doesn’t make any difference.

It basically doesn’t load the images at all. YouTube videos, downloading my addons and maps work fine and its speedy.

Most likely then you have a cache error some where, either in your browser or server side or even in your router if its advanced enough to do it. In chrome I know sometimes the “DNS pre-fetching” option sometimes causes weird things like this to happen?

I’ll give clearing my cache a go

Update: Hey, I can access it now. Hmm. Wonder what was causing my inability to connect?

Also, whats up with the lurkers giving me boxes? Oh well, boxfort it is.
