[solved] Custom player model intersecting behind itself

Hi! I’m wanting to get into making player models for myself and some friends, and I’m running into a bit of trouble. The model’s polygons/texture are weirdly overlapping each other when portions of the model are viewed behind itself.
When I modeled this in Blender it looks just fine It should be noted that the model is not one cohesive mesh but I don’t think that should be an issue. A friend suggested I recalculate the face normals, but doing that in Blender seemed to have no effect when I recompiled the model.

The issue was with my VMT. This was the original:

	"$basetexture" "fti/fti_apex"
	"$translucent" 1

Changing the translucent property to 0 was what fixed the overlapping.

If only I saw this post I could have told you that. Translucent has so many weird properties. $alphatest is really the only option in a lot of situations but its downside is boolean/bitmap transparency.
