if there are no brushes in source 2, is it still possible to make terrain with carving?

I think the question you mean to ask is, how can I produce result X in Source 2 without tool Y?

If you’ve seen the workshop tools for Source 2, they are huuuge improvements from Source 1’s hammer editor. What is it exactly you’re trying to achieve?
