Spherical Clipping

I’m trying to make an entity stop drawing players in a sphere, something like this:

That is, any portion of a player than enters this sphere stops being drawn. My best attempt looks like this:

However, I want players who are not inside the sphere to still be drawn. So if the player is behind the sphere, you see them through it, but anything inside it is clipped. Does anyone know how I might go about this? I’ve already tried a whole lot of stuff with stencils.

My best bet is this.

Though it wont clip rounded, or work for multiple spheres

did you try masking with inverted spheres?

disclaimer, I dabbled only a bit with stencils so my idea could be wrong
