Star Wars Battlefront 2015

Releasing early versions of a tools (yes there are bugs)to import models from upcoming EA/DICE game Star Wars Battlefront 2015. (V1.1)(01/08/15) Tested only on 3ds max 2012x64.
To use the mesh import tool you`ll need to :

  1. Dump game archives using Battlefield 4 python script by mr FrankElstner.

  2. Then you need to run my chunk&mesh file tool. Tut is made using bf4 and bfhl but it all works on swbf.

  3. Then you can use my maxscripts. Tested only on 3ds max 2012x64

  4. Then for textures use my texture tools to get the files.

Hello, the download link for the Chunk&Mesh file tool shows up as a 404, I’m not sure if this is only happening to me. Still, thank you for releasing this wonderful tool.

Wait did you get out animations or did you create that?

Also if you have VS 2013 installed you can load the textures in there and then export as PNG then use Xnview to convert them otherwise the alpha gets merged with the rgb channels. <<<<EDIT: Nevermind this i just found out his textures don’t export as a Dx10 format DDS file they export as DXT 5 but from what i seen even after you use his tool to convert the DDS files to png they still don’t work thus making this useless for the time being unless you wanna sit and convert every texture to dx10 in a hex editor by hand.

Also what do i do to get the cape to import on the snow trooper i have the mesh it wont load that’s about the only model i can’t get.

Also note his 3ds max tool doesn’t work on all the vehicles meshs like some wont import at all or they’ll import all jacked up and you wont be able to use them.

the cape is in imperial_snowtrooper_male_01_cape_new_mesh 66a52387cd251531 c0110000e03e03007001000090003001.mesh not in chunks.

also the mesh data is in floats not half floats contrary to the other files. The vertex data start in 0x11c0 not in 0x0 with 56 bytes size ( total = 1595), faces in 0x16EB0. UV are in Half floats with 52 bytes size.

So does this get models with their original skeletons and rigging? And I assume this would work with BFH too, right?

If you have his Bone script then you can but i’ll just give it to you guys here since his script by default doesn’t work with SWBF bones cause they have more bones then BF4 or BFH.

You need to load the Human_Male.txt and it’ll work if you want weapons rigged as well you need to load the same human_male as weapon and human bones are merged together.

But just remember his 3ds max script for importing the models isn’t perfect and still has a lot of meshes with really messed up verts so you wont be able to get everything out you want.

maxscript updated, imports most of the meshes, except the ones that are unified (meta/geo data in one file, usually small simple mesh objects). Those will get fixed soon.

For some reason I cannot import the head models into 3ds max using your script. Is there a fix out there or will it be updated soon? I am using 3ds max 2016 if that helps since I cannot download the 2012 version.

Deluxe version should be identical to the normal version, you don’t need a separate script.
Also do not post on two threads at once.

Sorry for that… Actually I found the way to dump everything, but the script for 3ds Max do not import anything at 2015/2016 versión
