Strange FPS Hits...

Ok, I’ve been having this problem for a while and it is really starting to get on my nerves. Every time I go to a level, like rp_Evocity, rp_downtown, rp_boulevard, etc. after a couple of seconds my fps drops to 2 fps. And the problem isn’t my computer. And I don’t even have half as many addons on this computer that I had on my laptop and my laptop had worse specs than this computer. But when I go to gm_construct, gm_flatgrass, gm_robynsvalley, or gm_bigcity all is fine. I don’t know what else to do. Please help. Thanks.

Which Evocity? If it’s rp_evocity_v2d (I think it’s called that) then it’s because it’s poorly optimised. You’re right for not blaming your computer for that.

Or is your FPS 2 all the time?

Its Evocity, Evocity 2, downtown, boulevard. Basically any level that is in the ‘others’ map category. When I start the map the fps is fine. After a while the fps just drops shaply down to 2.

No idea then, you can either wait for someone else to reply or try reinstalling garry’s mod.

Save your addons/maps/stuff in a separate folder and remove the garrysmod folder, it’ll pop back up once you start the game.

Or just try cleaning the addons folder.

I’ve done both three times before.

I did what you told me and when I play on evocity it keeps spamming this in the console:

Too many vertex format changes in frame, whole world not rendered.

But there are no fps hits this time.
