SWEP - How to have entity projectile report back hitgroup

If I have a SWEP that creates an entity as it’s ‘bullet’ for want of a better word - how would I have this report back the HitGroup when it touches the player?

Basically shoot a trace, no other way.

Entity:GetTouchTrace in one of the compatible methods.
