Hey,

This is my first “real” map upload here on Facepunch. It’s a bit small, and actually a piece of Abstract art, rather then a full map. I still hope you like it, maybe when I get lot’s of great comments, I might finish it up (I want to make a WHOLE palace, this is like 25 % of it)

If it’s not you’re style map, then don’t post any negative comments. I don’t think we want to hear you’re sence of art style. Although Positive, and comments like “Do this and that better, then it will be a good map” are ok.

I don’t blame you. It is kinda strange.
I think this goes in the “what the hell” catagory.

It WAS going to be a fountain. I now it’s just “something”. That thing in the middle.

When I saw test.bsp, I was dreading yet another noobish, blocky, fullbright mess, but I really like this. It different, very strange and definitely unique. I’d like to see a finished product of it, keep going :slight_smile:

Thanks for all the positive comments! Well, I think they’re positive, I’ll keep on working on it, and post new screenshots during the progress.

Not trying to bumb this, but does anyone know how to make particle water? Like in a fountain?

open up steam, right click and select properties. Click on set launch options, then type “-tools” without the quotes.

There is another tutorial there, but particle effects make the waterfall look better. Yes, I know the tutorial doesn’t specifically tell you how to make water particle effects, but messing with it for a little while may lead you to create a great waterfall particle effect.

This, but instead all I saw was a random pointless dev textured mess. Also name your thing something unique, it sucks having map names overlap.

I tried to edit the text later on, but I tried it like 5 times.

Ok, I know how it works a bit, but I don’t know how to add it ingame, or hammer. Help?

Update:

Made Pillars, and a new Download link, to THIS file. Fixed water.

The pillars remind me of Lord of the Rings somehow, and they were HELL to make. I did 3 nerve-wrecking houres for that one pillar… The other 3 didn’t make it, and had to be deleted…
