Texture blending with independent scaling?

I’m trying to blend the following textures together but I can’t seem to get them to scale independently of one another. No matter what I do one always skews the other.

I want the blended grass texture to match the normal grass texture, which can be seen at the bottom of this photo.

Here’s the transform section of my .vmt.

     "$basetexturetransform" "center .5 .5 scale 1 1 rotate 0 translate 0 0"
     "$basetexturetransform2" "center .5 .5 scale 2.0 8.0 rotate 0 translate 0 0"

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m unsure as i haven’t made a blend texture but this might be able to produce better looking blends if you’d like? Maybe someone else will know more of your problem.

Try adding
“$seamless_scale” “.0035”
