ok guys, ive recently been experimenting with animated textures a file compilation and i managed to get the Arm Cannon from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes in all its beam forms, with accurate pulses and glows and also accurate sizing , although there is an error with the Dark Beam’s model which is unfixable, but its nothing,

A texture fix for both packs has been released, the wave beam now has all its appropriate textures and the yellow.vtf is animated, the only mode which wont have the yellow light animation is the power beam because of a different uv layout.
heres the fix(not uploaded to garrysmod.org because it is saying “The file was a zip file, but we couldn’t open it! (Non standard zip??)”)

look at it from the front, its slightly skewed to the left and has holes in it.

The animated textures were a nice effect. These would look good as SWEPs.

and i will say the animated textures were a major pain in the a$$ to get working right, im glad i know how to emulate how the gamecube makes animations now.
IIRC the dark beam looked bugged like that in the retail game anyway.
yeah it did, but on my copy on the gamecube it wasnt, maybe it was just my emulation which bugged it, they released a second version of the game with some bugfixes about 3 days after they recalled em ove where i live…
ok im working on the prime 1 textures that will be used on the prime 2 models for the prime 1 beams…ice is done, plasma and wave are being done now

can you make a samus with suit body roups and weapon bodygroups?
short answer is no because A, i need to learn how and B i dont have that much time…
A samus model would suck without custom weapon animations anyway, unless you just want it for posing. I will say that rigging to Valve.Biped is very easy if you use XSI Mod Tool with the valve plugin.
if i could get the xsi mod tool…
It’s a free program. Just google it. Here’s a good page regarding rigging for source using it.

I’d absolutely love to see some of the little critters get ported. Particularly the poisonous mushrooms that would shake when you got close to them, and the little ice crystal fellas that crawled around surfaces in Phendrana Drifts.
