The Sims 2 Ports (Perfect for homes!)

You may have seen my Sims 2 Textures thread. Because of the positive reactions by fellow mappers, I figured that exporting a few models wouldn’t hurt. It took me about a week to do it, but it was well worth it. All models more than 1 square foot has a custom collision I built for it. Small things like the rubber duck, the phone, and wall lamps have a standard “wrapped” collision mesh.

Oh wow, good work on porting these. I guess the next logical step would be to add some bumpmaps/specmaps/phong exponents/datail maps and use some of the fancier shader options that source has without ruining the “TS2” feel of the props.

Exemplary job, this thread deserves more attention.

Just to add, two things in this pack are not from the Sims. The rubber duck is a model I edited from turbosquid.com to include my company logo on the bottom (inside joke for me, as I have to write “SES” on like 400 rubber ducks on some random days).

The second thing is an animated searchlight that I made for 3D skyboxes (distant cities).

I had become a slave to Sims Nesting Instincts.

Those were randomly grabbed models from The Sims 2 and its expansions. I don’t plan to export every single model like I did for the textures.

If you have a specific request for a Sims 2 model, ask away and I’ll see if I have some to complete the request. Just add if you would rather it be a static prop, or a physics prop. (No automerge?)

Any chance you could port the medical career unlock? I forget its name, but it was the computer bank with the centrifuge as a static prop?

Some models did not spawn for me, but still well worth it. The piano was awesome:smile:

I don’t know if I’m doing it wrong, or what, but I can’t get any of the models to work in game. I found the folder under the browse tab, but the icons all show the “error” graphic, and the models themselves won’t spawn at all.

Some models won’t spawn, some do.

I’ll go get the exact console error in a second, but it keeps giving me errors for a bunch of them, specifically the furniture, chess pieces, door, and so forth.

One thing I should post is what should be prop_physics and what is prop_static. Sorry for not posting that.
