Tutorial for ragdolling a ball joint?

I’m trying to make a model of a gun turret in which the gun rotates on a ball joint to be aimed in any direction, or possibly in such a way that the whole thing rotates left and right and the gun itself rotates up and down, either is fine.

Does anyone know of a tutorial that would best demonstrate how to ragdoll a model (in 3DSMax 8) to achieve something like this?


I don’t see it as being any different from making any other ragdoll.

Yes, make two bones - one for the gun, one for the base. Make sure to weight it extremely rigidly.

But…but I’ve never done a ragdoll :frown:
